Baby safe after thief steals car from Buckhead shopping center with child inside

ATLANTA — Atlanta police said a child is safe after a car was stolen with the child in the back seat.

The car was recovered Friday afternoon near The Peach shopping center along Peachtree Road NE in Buckhead.

Investigators said the car was left running when a thief hopped in and stole with the car with the child in the back seat.

Police said the child was not harmed. So far, police have not released any information about the suspect.
