Wilfon talked to Lane Homrich, who said two of her tires were among the ones slashed.

“I was pretty shocked, because it’s not something I’ve ever experienced, or ever worried about living in Midtown,” Homrich said.

Simon Almon said she spotted the suspect in action when she went to check the mail.

“I heard all the hissing noises and the slamming on cars,” Almon said. “He was just going to each car, and each car making a stabbing motion so each tire was going down.”

Xanthe Neal captured the suspect red-handed on her security camera.

“I think he just walked around with something sharp, a screwdriver or a knife, and just went to town,” Neal said.

Several tow trucks arrived at the scene Thursday night to haul away all the damaged cars.

Homrich said she still feels safe living in the neighborhood, but the flat tires are a hassle right before the holidays.

“I hope he knows that he messed up a lot of people’s Friday morning,” Homrich said.

Police have not released a description of the suspect or determined a motive.
