Open Hand Atlanta urgently needs volunteers to help with meal packaging, deliver

ATLANTA — Open Hand Atlanta says they have an urgent need for volunteers this week as they ramp up meal production amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Open Hand packs and delivers nearly 5,000 meals each day to people in metro Atlanta who otherwise might go without food.

The organization plans to pre-deliver a week’s worth of meals to each of their clients starting Monday.

They have posted 450 openings for volunteers to help package and deliver meals.

“We would sincerely appreciate any support from anyone who is healthy and willing to help,” organizers said in a statement.
