One dead after fight at southwest Atlanta apartment ends in gunfire, police say

ATLANTA — A man is dead after a shooting in southwest Atlanta Tuesday evening.

Officers were called to a fight at Ashley Cascade Apartment Homes on Kimberly Way SW at 6:30 p.m. While officers were responding, dispatchers notified them that a person had been shot.

Police found a man on the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are continuing to work to learn what led up to the shooting.

Details on any potential suspects have not been released at this time.
