ATLANTA — Police confirm to Channel 2 Action News that they are investigating a deadly shooting in Northwest Atlanta that was recorded and then uploaded onto social media.
Investigators said they were called out to a person shot on Alfred Road NW shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Officers found the man who had been shot and tried to perform CPR, but the man died on the scene.
Family members told Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes that the murder was recorded by a witness and then uploaded to Instagram.
They said they believe the shooter is a teenage relative of the victim.
“You know you shot him. You know you wrong. Just turn yourself in. We love you still, just turn yourself in because you know what y’all did,” a family member said.
Police are not releasing any names of the victim or suspect at this time.
A woman who identified herself as the mother of the victim’s youngest child identified the victim as Jerome Grant.
She has set up a GoFundMe to pay for his funeral expenses.
