Nextdoor app recognizing local neighbors with block party

ATLANTA — WSB-TV and the Nextdoor app have been partnering together to recognize some of the outstanding neighbors in our community.

Today, the Nextdoor app capped that off with a block party at Atlantic Station to recognize outstanding neighbors.

For the last few weeks, Channel 2′s Heather Catlin has been profiling some of the nominees for the Nextdoor 100, the list of the best neighbors in the country that Nextdoor will release next week.

Ten individuals and businesses who had been nominated by their neighbors were honored during the block party.

NEXTDOOR 100 NOMINEES:

• 93-year-old Marietta man who sits on the corner greeting neighbors nominated for Nextdoor 100
• Entire tight-knit Adair Park neighborhood being nominated for Nextdoor 100
• Milton chef who figured out how to keep his staff during the pandemic nominated for the Nextdoor 100

“When I get up every morning, I’m like, ‘God, what you got for me today?’ And he always brings the people that they need, straight to my direction, and NextDoor Gwinnett comes through and we make sure we take of everybody that has a need,” Lorri Brown said.

Catlin emceed Sunday’s event full of great food, live entertainment and dozens of vendor booths.

The list of the Nextdoor 100 will be announced on Channel 2 Action News This Morning on Tuesday.
