Man shot after argument over gas station restroom escalates

ATLANTA — Police are looking for two armed men who they say attacked a couple trying to use the restroom at a gas station.

The incident happened Thursday morning at a Texaco on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta.

Detectives said it started with an argument over who would use the restroom first.

Police said surveillance video shows a man in a red jacket in a engaging in a scuffle with a woman and her boyfriend, who works at the gas station.

According to police, the man in red left and came back with a gun and another man.

Police said the man in red shot the gas station worker twice in the leg as the worker was trying to defend his girlfriend.

The woman was able to get the gun away from the man in red and fire a shot, police said.

Detectives said the second suspect tried to fire his gun, but it jammed.

"She was real lucky because she wasn't shot," the woman's father said. "We've got to do something about this because it's gotten plum ridiculous with people just running up with these guns ... like World War I or something."

Police said they are going over the surveillance video to help them find the gunmen.
