ATLANTA — An altercation between a man and two officers on Sunday led to non-threatening injuries.
On Monday, the Atlanta Police Department shared new information about what happened during the incident on Forrest Park Road.

According to APD, a man named Jaheem Bivines was experiencing a mental health crisis and was reportedly armed.
Police said the initial calls indicated Bivines had a knife and BB gun.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Bivines “armed with a glass bottle containing fecal matter.”
When officers approached him, he hit two officers in the head with the bottle, resulting in lacerations.
Police responded by using their city-issued Tasers to subdue him and take him into custody.
Bivines was taken to Grady detention to be evaluated, while officers received medical treatment at the scene.
APD said Bivines was charged with aggravated assault.
