Man walking out of Lenox Square robbed at gunpoint before thief drives off in Camaro, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta police are looking for at least one person whom they said robbed a shopper in the Lenox Square parking lot two weeks ago.

According to the incident report obtained by Channel 2, a man was walking to his car just before 7 p.m. after purchasing a pair of Air Jordan 1 sneakers. That’s when he said a red Chevy Camaro pulled up to him and stopped.

Investigators said a man got out of the passenger seat of the Camaro, armed with a black, semi-automatic gun and demanded the victim’s shoe bag and wallet. They said the suspect took about $100 cash from the wallet before handing it back to the victim.

The suspect told police the man with the gun rummaged through his car before getting back into the Camaro which sped away. Police said the victim flagged down an off-duty Atlanta Police officer to report what happened.

Police only have a brief description of the robber. They said he’s a Black male between 20-25 years old, about 6 feet tall with long dreadlocks and was dressed in black with a mask. They said the Camaro had black rims, racing stripes, tinted windows and a temporary tag.
