Janet Jackson’s Thursday concert pushed back because of Hawks-Celtics Game 6

ATLANTA — Janet Jackson’s Thursday concert at State Farm Arena has been rescheduled after the Atlanta Hawks’ late-game heroics extended their series with the Boston Celtics.

With the Hawks’ last-second upset 119-117 win over the Celtics, State Farm Arena will now host Game 6 of that series on Thursday, instead of Jackson’s concert. Instead, Jackson’s concert will be on Friday.

The first of two Atlanta stops on Jackson’s “Together Again” tour will still take place on Wednesday night.

Jackson’s new Friday concert date now goes head-to-head with the first leg of Taylor Swift’s three-date Atlanta tour run next door at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“This is such an exciting time for the city with world-class events between Hawks Playoff basketball, Janet Jackson and Taylor Swift in downtown Atlanta. We are committed to ensuring all of our guests have a great night out at each of our events and are working with our partners to provide the most seamless experience possible,” said State Farm Arena Executive Vice President of Arena Programming Trey Feazell.

All tickets for Jackson’s Thursday night’s show will be honored for Friday night’s show, according to a news release from the Hawks and State Farm Arena.

Refunds will be available for those who are unable to attend.

Doors for Jackson’s concerts on Wednesday and Friday open at 6:30 p.m. with an official start time of 7:45 p.m.

Officials encouraged those going to these downtown Atlanta events to use public transportation services such as MARTA, with heavy traffic expected in downtown Atlanta on Friday.

The Hawks will face the Celtics in Game 6 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
