Iconic hip-hop duo OutKast to be honored at Braves game with bobblehead, ‘ATLiens’ food truck

ATLANTA — Iconic Atlanta hip-hop duo OutKast will be honored at Truist Park on Thursday as the Braves host the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves have planned a celebration cooler than a polar bear’s toenail.

The team will give the first 15,000 fans an OutKast bobblehead featuring group members Big Boi and André 3000 wearing Braves gear cruising in a signature red Cadillac.

Additionally, Big Boi will be on hand to throw out the first pitch before the game.

Some streets around the Battery will be named and dedicated to the origination of OutKast. Additionally, there will be an OutKast-inspired art wall for fan photos and OutKast music playing inside and outside the ballpark.

There will also be an ‘ATLiens Diner’ food truck that will offer soul food inspired by OutKast lyrics, such as Patty Melts (So Fresh and So Clean), Fried Fish and Grits (ATLiens), and Yams with Extra Syrup (SpottieOttieDopalicious), according to a news release.

The Braves said that there will be various OutKast artwork and content on display throughout the game.

Big Boi will join Brandon Gaudin and Jeff Francoeur in the broadcast booth during the game, according to the team.

Biological Misfits featuring Malcolm Jamal-Warner will perform OutKast tribute music in the Battery starting at 6 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m.
