ATLANTA — The Home Depot Foundation surprised 10 local veterans with two months of mortgage or rental payments during a Falcons game last week.
The veterans were surprised with the news on the field at Mercedes Benz Stadium Nov. 18. Each veteran also got a $500 gift card.

The veterans stood in a line flanked by Falcons cheerleaders Freddie Falcon as they opened orange boxes and discovered their gifts. There were cheers and big smiles from the veterans.

The surprise Hometown Hero event marked the 10-year anniversary of the Foundation working to help veterans.
