Gov. Kemp declares Friday Atlanta Braves Day

ATLANTA — Friday, November 5, 2021 in Georgia is officially Atlanta Braves Day!

Governor Brian Kemp issued a proclamation Thursday afternoon celebrating the Braves’ World Series win.

“The Braves inspired all of Georgia with their exuberant personality, perseverance, and passion, and will be remembered for generations as the team that brought a long-awaited championship to the Peach State despite seemingly insurmountable odds,” Kemp said in the proclamation.

The Braves defeated the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the best-of-seven series on Tuesday.

The team’s victory parade though Atlanta and Cobb County is scheduled for Friday, which lines up with the governor’s proclamation.

“The State of Georgia is honored to recognize the 2021 Atlanta Braves for their memorable season and their ultimate triumph,” the proclamation read.

The governor also says that to celebrate Atlanta Braves Day, he’s encouraging everyone to wear their favorite gear and head out to the parade.
