Georgia Baptist Hospital dates back a century in this city and has been known as the Atlanta Medial Center since 1999.

“I think it’s sad,” Marilyn Wilson said. Marilyn can’t believe the hospital will be closed. She lives on the other side of town, but this place is where she has always come for major medical care.

“To me, it’s a good hospital,” Marilyn said.

Alfreda Hightower’s Aunt Hattie has since passed away. She worked at Georgia Baptist Hospital for nearly 30 years. Alfreda remembers how proud she was to be there.

“My aunt was in dietary, so she would deliver the food,” Alfreda said. “She enjoyed it. She retired from there. That was one of the best jobs she could ever have.”
