Every Delta employee to get paid $1,250 on employee appreciation day

ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines will pay each employee $1,250 on Employee Appreciation Day in February.

The airline said in a memo to employees that the payment is part of a profit-sharing of more than $100 million. Employees who were with the company the entire year will get the full $1,250 payment, while employees who started with the company in mid-2021 will get half that amount.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian said that Delta was the only major U.S. airline to report a profit during the second half of 2021, and that he credits Delta’s employees.

“This is a truly remarkable achievement,” Bastian said. “Amid the continuing challenges, including one of the most difficult holiday environments we’ve ever encountered, you continue to rise above and provide unmatched service to our customers. You never falter in taking care of one another, our customers, and the communities we serve.”

The payments will go out on Feb. 14.
