Driver dies after he was shot, crashed into building at Atlanta apartment complex, police say

ATLANTA — A driver has died after police say he was shot and crashed into a building at an Atlanta apartment complex.

Atlanta police said the crash happened at The Lenox Woods Apartments at 2255 Lenox Road NE around 7 p.m.

Officers were called to a crash where a vehicle was stuck in a building and the driver was unconscious.

Investigators later learned that the driver, who was in his late 20s, had been shot. They say he died while on his way to the hospital.

Authorities say they have recovered ballistic evidence inside the apartment complex, but are still working to learn what led up to the shooting.

They are not releasing any details on the victim’s identity or potential suspects at this time.
