Atlanta reacts to Braves bringing home the World Series

ATLANTA — We’re partying like it’s 1995! For the first time in almost three decades, the Braves are the World Series champions!

The Braves are currently the best team in baseball after shutting out the Astros during Game 6 of the best-of-seven series.

Atlanta and Braves fans erupted in excitement as the last out put the final nail in the Astros’ coffin.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was quick to share his excitement, saying they made the state prouder than ever.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also chimed in and shared a cartoon of herself in pure joy.

The Carter Center also shared a sweet memory of former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn sharing a kiss on the Kiss Cam in 2015. This is now the third World Series the Carters have witnessed.

Greg Maddux, who pitched for the Braves last time they won the World Series in 1995, shared his excitement for the new batch of Braves.

Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young got in on the fun and supported his fellow Atlanta athletes.

The Atlanta Dream also showed their support for a fellow Atlanta sports team.

Astronaut Shane Kimbrough, who is currently aboard the International Space Station, shared this cool picture of an Atlanta Braves jersey floating in zero gravity on the ISS to celebrate the win.

Several metro Atlanta law enforcement departments also celebrated with tongue-in-cheek posts.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Atlanta Braves on their World Series WIN!! On a different note, the Solar System will be renamed “Soler System” since that’s where Jorge put that ball!!
