Atlanta airport launches flight to Wakanda as latest ‘Black Panther’ movie premieres

ATLANTA — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has announced the return of direct flights to Wakanda.

In a tweet from the airport Thursday, it said that “non-stop service on Flight CHBZ will depart from the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal from gate F8 at 7:30 p.m.”

The flight came with Wakandan-inspired concessions as well.

This is all in anticipation of the premiere of the second Black Panther movie, set to debut Friday.

The movie and its predecessor were both largely filmed in the Atlanta metro area.

Disney held a special screening of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in Atlanta Wednesday and awarded $1 million in grants to different arts programs and nonprofits around the country. The nonprofits that were chosen support young people from historically underrepresented communities and empower the next generation of storytellers.
