ATLANTA — The second round in Georgia’s presidential race is now over.
It came down to the wire for some counties to beat the midnight deadline.
In Fulton County, election workers at the World Congress Center got it done and beat the deadline with just minutes left. They scanned more than 528,000 ballots in the state-wide recount.
As of 10 p.m. Wednesday night, the Secretary of State’s website showed other counties still scanning votes.
“They’re all going to meet the deadlines of recertifying by Friday,” said Gabriel Sterling from the Secretary of State’s office.

Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said the second recount will not lead to a victory for President Donald Trump.
“We wish that our guy would have won the election but doesn’t look like our guy has won the election. And it’s like, Vice President Biden will carry Georgia, and he is our president elect,” Raffensperger said.

In Alpharetta Wednesday, President Trump supporters rallied behind accusations of a rigged election and voter fraud. The state found no evidence of widespread cheating.
“They want to know, ‘Where’s your evidence? Show us your evidence?’ Oh, we’re going to show them the evidence - there’s piles of evidence, there’s mountains of evidence,” attorney Lin Wood said during the rally.
The secretary said he’s moving on to the senate race election and said he hopes there’s no threats of intimidation and violence for that race.
