2 Emory students who lived in undergraduate housing being tested for coronavirus

ATLANTA — Two Emory students are being tested for coronavirus, school officials told students and staff Saturday night.

Both students lived in undergraduate housing.

Neither case has been confirmed, but both students are self-isolating in off-campus housing, according to an email from interim Provost Jan Love. Students and staff will be notified if they test positive for the illness.

Emory has extended spring break for another week and asked all students who can to to move out of campus housing by March 22. On March 23, the University will start remote learning.

“We have been heartened by the outpouring of concern from our alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends regarding COVID-19,” Love wrote. “Your willingness to help our students during this uncertain time is encouraging, and we assure you we are fully committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our entire student body.”
