ATLANTA — The two-block extension of 15th Street in Midtown is expected to be completed by late August, according to officials.

The Midtown Alliance said in its latest newsletter that the project will be complete by the end of the month. Once open, 15th Street will offer new access for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists from West Peachtree (where the street originally terminated) to Spring and Williams Streets.

The project has been in the works since 2017, when the extension was awarded a grant through the Atlanta Regional Commission for partial design, engineering, and construction funding. Additional city, state, and federal funding helped bring the project to fruition.

In just the last few weeks, have finished installing landscaping, signage, roadway striping, and bike lane markings.
