An Atlanta man who police say has been arrested more than 100 times was arrested again after officers responded to a reported shoplifting at a southwest Atlanta business.

Atlanta police said officers responded August 12 to a Dollar General on Luther King Jr. Drive SW.
The suspect was known to officers from previous incidents at the same location, police said. When officers arrived, they spotted the suspect running into a nearby business and took him into custody without incident.
Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Edward Stewart.
Stewart was arrested on a shoplifting charge and on an active warrant stemming from an alleged shoplifting incident at the same location just two days prior, according to police.
Atlanta police said Stewart is a known offender who has been arrested more than 100 times, including 15 felony convictions.
