Armed suspect opens fire on security guards outside Perimeter Mall, police say

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police say an armed man opened fire on security guards who followed him outside of Perimeter Mall Monday.

Dunwoody Police said the loss prevention team at Macy’s saw a man shoplifting at Sun Glass Hut inside the store.


The loss prevention officers followed the suspect outside, where he shot at them but missed. He was caught by Dunwoody police an hour later in a nearby office building.

“Thanks to a good description of the suspect, he was taken into custody and the firearm was recovered without incident,” Dunwoody Police said. “No injuries or property damage were reported, and multiple charges are pending.”

The suspect has not been identified.
