Police: 6-year-old child found safe after mother abducts, threatens to kill him

DEKALB COUNTY — A six-year-old metro Atlanta boy was found safe Friday morning and his mother is behind bars after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a Levi’s Call (Amber Alert), saying he was in serious danger.

DeKalb County police said Rochelle Riley had abducted her six-year-old son, Anthony Johnson.

Police said late Thursday night, Riley drove her son to his father’s house on Monterey Drive.

Officials said the woman assaulted the child in the front yard of the home “in view of the father,” then put their son back into the car and drove away with him.

Officials said she sent numerous text messages to the child’s father, threatening to kill Johnson and stating that she had already killed the child.

After an hours-long search, Johnson was confirmed to be found between 3 and 4 a.m. Riley was arrested, according to the GBI.

We’re working to learn the charges the mother is facing.
