555 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 20 deaths in Georgia

There are now 55 counties in Georgia with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

GEORGIA — There are now 555 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia and 20 deaths, as of 7 p.m. Saturday. That is up from 485 cases and 14 deaths as of 7 p.m. Friday.

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany announced that a 42-year-old woman and a 69-year-old woman both died and that they both had preexisting health conditions.

Emory Healthcare announced that a patient died at one of their facilities Wednesday. Details about that patient were not released.

It’s not clear where the other deaths occurred.

There are now 56 counties with confirmed cases, which is up from 50 counties at noon on Friday.
