LAGRANGE, Ga. — A west Georgia middle schooler is facing charges after being accused of stabbing a classmate on Monday afternoon.
LaGrange police say the school resource officer at Gardner Newman Middle School was made aware of a fight near the end of the school day.

Around 2:40 p.m., police say one 13-year-old stabbed another 13-year-old several times with a pair of scissors, causing several injuries.
Police have not commented on the severity of the student’s injuries.

The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and disrupting public school.
Neither student is being identified because they are juveniles.
