Woman dies after being trapped inside garage in DeKalb County house fire

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman is dead after firefighters say she became trapped inside a garage that caught on fire.

It happened at a home on Huntington Place Circle Wednesday morning in DeKalb County. Channel 2′s Darryn Moore reported live from the scene for Channel 2 Action News This Morning as crews finished fighting off the flames.

DeKalb County firefighters responded to the call around 1:30 a.m. When they showed up, family members told crews that someone was trapped inside.

Firefighters found a woman dead inside the garage. There was another adult and three children inside the home who made it out safely.

Details leading up to the fire are unknown at this time.

The victim’s name, age and relationship to the others have not been released.
