PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. — A pilot safely landed a plane at a north Georgia airport Friday afternoon after the plane reportedly experienced engine problems.

Pickens County firefighters were called around 12:45 p.m. to the Pickens County Airport after receiving a report that a plane was having engine trouble and possibly on fire.
The plane was expected to arrive at the airport within about two to three minutes. As fire crews were arriving, the plane touched down on the north end of the runway at an estimated 105 mph, officials said.

The pilot was able to guide the plane down, get it stopped and taxi off the runway at the south end, according to Pickens County Fire and Rescue.
“Great job by the pilot,” fire officials said.
Firefighters said no fire was found when they arrived, and no injuries were reported.
