Mega Millions jackpot approaches $1 billion as nobody wins Tuesday night’s jackpot

ATLANTA — The pot just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The reward more tempting.

The 37th draw in the current Mega Millions lottery jackpot once again did not produce a jackpot winner. The pot, before Tuesday night’s draw sat at $865 million. With nobody claiming that prize, Friday night’s drawing, which you can see on Channel 2 beginning at 10:59 p.m. ahead of WSB Tonight will be for a jackpot of at least $970 million.

In case you are wondering, should you be the winner Friday night, the cash payout is a cool $716.3 million. Unless the jackpot gets even bigger.

The winning numbers if you want to check: 10, 19, 26, 28 and 50, plus the gold Mega Ball 16.

Wednesday night, Powerball has its draw and the jackpot has grown to $730 million. For those keeping track, the cash payout on that is $546 million.

According to the Mega Millions website, there were over five million people who won some sort of prize from Tuesday nights drawing. Eleven of those winners matched the five white balls and won the game’s second prize of $1 million.

None of the million dollar winners were in Georgia.

The current record jackpot for the game was in 2018 when it reached $1.537 billion. The only larger pot in lottery history was the January 2016 jackpot of $1.586 billion by Powerball.
