Man found sleeping in vehicle he is accused of stealing

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man was arrested after deputies found him inside a vehicle he is accused of stealing.

On March 14 at 7:37 a.m., deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cherokee Brick Company at 3250 Waterville Road to investigate two Ford trucks reported stolen.

During their investigation, the trucks were discovered nearby in a heavily wooded area.

Deputies also located a third stolen vehicle, an SUV, which was reported stolen the previous day.

All three vehicles were stuck in the mud.

While checking one of the stolen vehicles with tinted windows, deputies found a man sleeping inside.

The man was identified as Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson, 35.

Searcy-Bryson was arrested and taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.

He is charged with three counts of felony theft by taking auto and probation violation.
