Douglas police searching for missing and endangered woman

DOUGLAS, Ga. — Police in Douglas, Georgia are looking for a missing and endangered woman.

Maria Sophia Diaz, 29, was last seen on Feb. 7, 2023.

Her last known location was the 900 block of East Ethel Street in Douglas.

That block is commonly referred to by locals as “The Compound.”

Investigators believe Diaz was attempting to leave “The Compound” at the time of her disappearance.

They also believe her disappearance was not of her own free will and she is seriously endangered.

She is described as Hispanic, 5′ 3″ tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

The Douglas Police Department asks anyone that has had contact with Diaz around the time of her disappearance, and anyone who has information on “The Compound” or anyone who frequents that location to contact them at 912-384-2222.
