COLUMBUS, Ga. — Two Georgia police officers are recovering after they were stabbed while responding to a dispute between neighbors Saturday morning, officials said.

The incident happened around 3:21 a.m. in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Columbus.
Columbus officers were called to the area regarding a dispute between neighbors. Police said officers had resolved the initial disturbance when another incident involving Makayla Jacobson, 22, occurred while officers were still on the scene.
Authorities said two officers approached Jacobson to take her into custody when she allegedly retrieved a knife and stabbed both officers.

The officers were taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both officers have since been treated and released.
Jacobson was arrested and charged with:
- Two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer
- Two counts of felony obstruction
- Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime
Jacobson is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 28.
The investigation remains ongoing.
