Things 2 Do

Things to do: FREE workouts at home, Nitro Zone, drive-thru animal farm, The Springs Cinema and Taphouse now open

Here’s a round-up of a few FREE workouts, and other things to do in and out of the house!

Georgia Glamping Company - Experience ‘glamping’ (glamorous camping) at the beautiful Shady Grove campgrounds on Lake Lanier, near Cumming, Georgia. Enjoy an air-conditioned tent with beds, mini fridges, coffee makers, and more! Book your glamping experience here.

Georgia Aquarium - Opening June 13th and 14th for MEMBERS ONLY, and open to the public on Monday. You must purchase and reserve a time slot beforehand. Check out their website here to purchase tickets and get more information.

KEFI - is preparing for a careful and safe reopening on Monday, June 15th as a member-only club. The modern family club assembled a team of leading health experts, including two pediatricians and a healthcare quality safety expert, to execute a path forward in the ever-changing COVID-19 environment. In addition to observing CDC, state, and local requirements, Kefi’s new members-only structure allows parents to schedule visits in advance with limited group sizes for added safety. Other safety and sanitation measures include:

  • Additional hand sanitation dispensers, sticky mats, and touch-free handwashing stations that remove 99.9% of harmful pathogens.
  • Sterilizing all toys with ozone power between group visits.
  • Capping capacity at any given time and blocking off 15 minutes between reservation times to accommodate a full cleaning of the space.
  • Requiring contactless temperature checks of all members as a condition to entry, limiting interactions between groups, recommending all members wear masks, and providing additional protective wear on site.
  • Testing and screening all staff members before they begin work.

The Springs Cinema and Taphouse - The popular movie theater in Sandy Springs is now OPEN. You’ll want to buy tickets ahead of time on their free app, for a contact-less experience. Click here for important changes and more information.

Pettit Creek Farms - Buy tickets and do a drive-thru the animal farm tour! From zebras to camels, goats, giraffes and more - you can experience the animals from the comfort of your car. Make a reservation for the drive-thru farm tour here.

Nitro Zone - To help facilitate a touch-less check in process we are requiring all waivers to be completed online only using your own personal device. Due to limited capacity for each block, we recommend our guests purchase tickets online in advance to guarantee entry.

Southern Belle Farms - Come out and pick your own bucket of strawberries at the McDonough farm. It’s best to check the website and call the farm for more information before going: 770.288.2582.

Aurora Theatre - Launching a digital performing arts series. These activities are free and scheduled on various dates throughout April. Each event will be posted on the website, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram at designated times.

Museum of Design Atlanta’s Apps for Earth Workshop – MODA is hosting a special Earth Day workshop online from 2-4pm on Wednesday, April 22 that will teach participants (ages 10-18) how to start building an app that helps people take better care of our planet! They will also have the opportunity to create a storyboard for their app and discuss ways they could design apps for the earth. This workshop will take place entirely online and only requires a laptop, pen and paper. Registration is available here ($15 for MODA members; $20 for non-members).
