Many Black Fridays are filled with thousands of shoppers fighting for a handful of great deals, lots of traffic and long lines. But what if Black Friday could be filled with beautiful mountain views, one-of-a-kind gift ideas, great food and some spectacular Christmas trees? That’s exactly what’s on tap in Rabun County at this big event.

Beginning November 14th

A family-favorite tradition, Stone Mountain Christmas is Atlanta’s most heartwarming celebration filled with festive music, millions of dazzling lights, captivating shows and visits with popular holiday characters. COVID-19 safety precautions will be enforced.

Take in spectacular lighted sculptures and nature’s wonders...the world’s largest choreographed curtain of light and sound, which returns with new music and motion! Masks and social distancing is enforced, and timed tickets must be purchased online, ahead time.

Nov. 16-Jan. 18

Skaters are invited to glide around the popular rink at Atlantic Station amongst the twinkling lights and holiday magic of the West Midtown mixed-use destination. General admission tickets are on sale now for $15, and season passes are available for $60; skate rental is included with ticket price.

Nov. 16-Feb. 15

A beloved annual tradition, this year, guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a new theme at The Rink at Park Tavern, A Miracle on 10th Street. Setting the scene, a winter wonderland featuring an abundance of festive and kitschy decor, makes for unforgettable experiences and Instagrammable moments seven days a week. Holiday cheer promises to be abound with an array of seasonal cocktails served in playful glassware, delicious fare, special events, all day skate sessions, themed skate nights, cozy fire pits, and much more. Guests of all ages can enjoy skating experiences for $15 Monday through Thursday and $20 Friday through Sunday until 8 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., The Rink at Park Tavern becomes an ages 16 and up venue until midnight.

Nov. 20-Jan. 8

Enjoy a season of celebrations during Fernbank’s annual Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World. This holiday-inspired exhibit features trees and other displays decorated by local cultural partners that recognize celebrations including Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as traditions and practices like indigenous art and national symbols, located on Entry and Upper Levels. Winter Wonderland also features iconic winter themes in giant “snow globe” scenes located outdoors.

Nov. 21-Jan. 3

The holiday wonderland will feature 14 intricately themed areas and 31 thrilling holiday rides, including eight world-class roller coasters. The one-of-a-kind holiday experience also lights up the park with more than one million LED lights, dazzling live outdoor shows and festive seasonal food, all combining to make Holiday in the Park the region’s most charming family adventure.

Nov. 22-Dec. 3

It’s looking merry and bright along the Boulevard as Avalon gears up for North Fulton’s favorite tree lighting traditions. In lieu of the annual one-day extravaganza, this year’s event has been transformed into a 12-day celebration featuring a variety of festive, open-air activations for the community, including Avalon on Ice performances, rooftop cocktail hours, pop-up concerts and more.

Nov. 27-Jan. 3

The Savannah Christmas Market Plant Riverside District blends European and Southern holiday traditions in a spectacular entertainment district overlooking the Savannah River in one of America’s most beautiful cities. A wide range of holiday-themed events, live performances and family-friendly activities are planned for the opening holiday weekend, November 27 and 28, including a Christmas Market, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Kid’s Corner and Savannah Harbor Boat Parade of Lights, followed by a fireworks show directly across the river from Plant Riverside District.

Nov. 27-Jan. 18

Bedecked in thousands of twinkling lights, a show-stopping two-story Christmas tree on the square and a new-for-2020 Festival of Trees with 10-12 brightly decorated Christmas trees on display in Hancock Park, the town looks and feels like a holiday wonderland. Of note, all of the trees used in the Festival of Trees will be wild trees that will be planted at the end of the season. Family-friendly holiday special activities include carriage rides (additional cost) and boutique holiday shopping as Dahlonega’s eclectic selection of merchants offer extended hours and the annual Christmas Market, put on by the Dahlonega Women’s Club. For the grownups, the new Winter Wine Tour of Tasting Rooms is the perfect way to enjoy tastings of Dahlonega’s renowned wineries as you stroll around the square.

Nov. 27-Dec. 24

Santa Claus is opening a Post Office at The Battery Atlanta. Families are invited to drop off their handwritten letters to Santa – postage not required – in person at his official Atlanta outpost. Santa’s helpers will take care of the rest! Santa will continue the time-honored tradition of greeting local children, too.

There will not be a professional photographer onsite, so parents are encouraged to take photos of their children interacting with Santa from a safe distance as he listens to their wish lists. Santa will be stationed behind a countertop for a contactless experience. Only one family will be allowed in Santa’s Post Office at a time.

Dec. 3

Both in-person and live streaming options will be available this year, and attendees can expect this event to be full of holiday cheer from Singing Santa to on-the-go ornament bags to continue the fun and decorate at home. This year, masks will be required, social distancing will be encouraged and hand sanitizing stations will be plentiful.

Dec, 4-Jan. 18

With colorful displays, beautiful twinkling lights and holiday tunes filling up the car, guests can enjoy a cheerful ride through this Atlantic Station attraction. The magical drive-thru will be open for festive guests through Jan. 18. The cost to attend is $25 per car Sunday through Thursday and $35 per car on Friday and Saturday.

Dec. 5

Jingle your way to Halcyon in Forsyth County for live holiday entertainment. Enjoy sweet treats, arts and crafts and a parade around the property featuring favorite familiar characters including Anna, Elsa, Spiderman, Mulan, Captain America and of course, Santa Claus.

Dec. 17

Dust off those ugly Christmas sweaters and toast the holiday season with Christmas-inspired cocktails and seasonal beers at Halcyon in Forsyth County. Guests can enjoy some free holiday swag and sample holiday-inspired libations from Halcyon’s participating bars and restaurants. Meet and mingle with The Grinch as he selects the winners of the tackiest holiday sweater to receive a $50 gift card from a Halcyon restaurant. A limited number of tickets are available to accommodate social distancing, with a portion of proceeds benefiting local nonprofit Mentor Me North Georgia.

Dec. 19

The trio return to Halcyon for a memorable meet-and-greet. Ace Suggs will be performing holiday music live in the Village Green, while families can enjoy free kids crafts and face painting.
