GIVING TUESDAY NOW: Georgians help nonprofits get through the coronavirus pandemic

Atlanta — In response to COVID-19, Georgia Center for Nonprofits hosted a spring fundraiser to help nonprofits throughout the state. Georgia Gives on Giving Tuesday Now happened Tuesday.

Thousands of people donated to causes close to their hearts and helped nonprofits and the communities they serve.

Donations from more than 7,000 people raised more than $1 million for over 700 organizations.

GAgives was created in 2012 as a way to connect Georgians to nonprofits. Now, in partnership with the global #GivingTuesday movement, it has become Georgia’s biggest day of giving.

Giving Tuesday usually takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, but this year an extra giving Tuesday has been added to help nonprofits who’ve had to cancel spring fundraisers and are having trouble making ends meets during this pandemic.
