An attorney representing President-elect Donald Trump’s case in Georgia filed a response to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court.
The Georgia Court of Appeals last month ruled that Willis and her office could not continue to prosecute the case because of an “appearance of impropriety” created by a romantic relationship she had with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she had hired to lead the case.

Willis filed an appeal on Jan. 9. Trump’s attorneys filed their response on Friday.
“President Trump has filed a compelling response in opposition to DA Fani Willis’ request that the Georgia Supreme Court review the GA Court of Appeals’ ruling disqualifying Willis. The response persuasively argues that discretionary review is legally unwarranted under the particular circumstances of this case,” attorney Steve Sadow said in a statement.
