ATLANTA — Police are questioning witnesses after a club fight turned into a street shooting in Buckhead.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington spoke with regular customers at Whisky Mistress, who said they feel uncomfortable returning to the club until officers capture the shooter.
“I never see fights going on or anybody trying to be aggressive,” said customer Ciera McKenny.
Around 3:30 a.m. Friday, an Atlanta officer working security at the club told police a fight broke out between two men.
McKenny said she’s never heard of any problems at the club before.
Afterward, one man drove away down Maple Drive. The other followed, and minutes later, gunshots were fired.
“The suspect fired shots into the victim’s vehicle. That round penetrated the vehicle and struck victim in the butt,” said Atlanta Police Capt. Andrew Senzer.
The victim ended up at the Hampton Inn Hotel nearby. He ran inside for help, while his Audi sat out front with at least one bullet hole through the windshield.
The shooter got away, police said.
Investigators said the shooter was last seen driving a white Lexus ES 350.

The victim was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.
“It’s a little shocking, a little nerve-wracking actually,” McKenny said. “I don’t think I’m going to come back for a while.”
McKenny said the whole fight-turned-shooting has her on edge. She hopes this incident will lead to more security at the bar.
“I’m not exactly sure if they focus on the door, but I feel like maybe they can do a little better especially after this situation that happened,” McKenny said.
Atlanta police said they’re still conducting interviews to get more details about this shooting, including exactly what was behind the fight here, in the first place.
