FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that shut down all lanes of I-285 southbound for hours in Fulton County.
Atlanta police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a man, later identified as Oswald Cunningham, 51, of Atlanta, was found shot to death on the interstate's shoulder near Hollowell Parkway.
NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene Wednesday afternoon where traffic was backed up on I-285 for miles. Police had to turn drivers around on the exit ramp.
The shooter, who was in another car, stayed on the scene and was taken into custody. Police have not identified the shooter.

I-20 westbound and I-75 southbound traffic were also impacted by the backups.
All lanes of I-285 southbound reopened shortly after 7 p.m, but delays remained in the area.
