COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Shots were fired outside a Taco Mac restaurant in Cobb County late Wednesday night during a confrontation over a parking violation.
The incident occurred just before midnight when police approached a man who had parked in a handicap spot. The suspect, who had a warrant for violating probation on an aggravated assault charge, fled from officers with a gun.

“He parked in a handicap spot, and when officers approached, he decided to flee,” said Arron Wilson of the Cobb County Police Department.
Investigators from the Cobb County Police Department’s Violent Crime Bureau were already on site when they noticed the suspect.
As police pursued him, he fumbled with a gun, leading to an accidental discharge.

“Officers tried to tackle him, the fire accidentally discharged, striking the suspect,” Wilson explained.
The bullet grazed the suspect’s head, and police confirmed that he will be taken to jail after being released from the hospital.

This Taco Mac location has been the site of previous violent incidents, including a fatal shooting in 2023.
The restaurant is situated under Main Event, a family-friendly entertainment center, which has seen multiple calls for service this year.
