WOODSTOCK, Ga. — A Woodstock police officer is out of a job as the department investigates allegations that he used illegal drugs.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington learned that Officer Michael Smart was "relieved of duty" and is no longer employed with the department and three other officers are on administrative leave.
On Thursday, Police Assistant Chief Kevin Culpepper told Washington that the department got an anonymous tip about a member of the force using drugs.
But Washington did some digging and found that in 2018, Smart was one of five officers awarded for making more than 50 drug arrests.
Culpepper said that no other details are being released at this time.

In a statement, the department said:
"The Woodstock Police Department is committed to thoroughness and transparency in investigating allegations of employee misconduct and want to assure the public that appropriate action will be taken when warranted."
It's unclear why the three other officers were suspended or how long they will remain on leave.
