PALMETTO, Ga. — The family of the man who was shot and killed at a Palmetto Bojangles Sunday says the suspect is the shift manager.

Palmetto police confirmed to Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers that officers found a man dead in the parking lot at 9135 Roosevelt Highway when they responded to the scene at 1:15 p.m.

The names of those involved in the shooting haven’t been released yet.

However the victim’s family has identified him as Dominique Goodman.

The family told Rogers that Goodman’s daughter worked at Bojangles and got into an argument with her shift manager, so she called her dad.

Police say the employee got off around noon but waited in the parking lot for Goodman to get there.

Goodman’s friends and family say this was a senseless shooting.

“These people need to put these guns down, and he should’ve gone home like the manager told him and none of this would’ve happen. She would have a father. They would have their cousin and their brother, and you know, it’s at the holiday,” Marlene Lately, a family friend, said.

The police chief told Rogers they were doing interviews at the station, and they expected to transfer the suspect to the Fulton County jail later Sunday night.
