ATLANTA — Congratulations are in order for Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Glenn Burns.
The Atlanta Press Club announced that Burns will be inducted into its Hall of Fame in October.

“For more than 40 years, Glenn Burns was a trusted source for weather across North Georgia, helping viewers prepare for everything from severe storms to sunny days ahead. As Chief Meteorologist at WSB-TV, his calm, reliable reporting made him one of Atlanta’s most respected broadcasters,” the Atlanta Press Club said.
A special dinner and ceremony for the inductees will be held on Oct. 29 in Atlanta.

Burns joined WSB-TV in 1981 and retired in 2022. He now serves as Chief Meteorologist Emeritus and joins Channel 2 Action News and Severe Weather Team 2 for special weather coverage and programs throughout the year.
During his career at WSB-TV, Burns has won many awards, including Best of Atlanta, Best of Cobb, Best of Gwinnett, Associated Press Weathercaster of the Year, and has been nominated for numerous Emmy Awards.
He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) Seal of Approval.
