New trial date for Georgia teen accused of murdering mother, stepfather

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia judge has set a new trial date for a teen accused of killing her mother and stepfather.

Sarah Grace Patrick originally was scheduled to go on trial on Aug. 3, 2026 before it was delayed. This week, Carroll County Judge Dustin Hightower set the new date for Feb. 8, 2027.

Patrick faces multiple charges, including malice murder, in the deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, and her stepfather, James Brock.

The couple were shot and killed inside their Carrollton home in February 2024. Their 5-year-old daughter found their bodies.

“My 5-year-old niece then woke up to find her parents lifeless,” James Brock’s sister, Kim Bowling, said at a hearing earlier this year. “The trauma this innocent child will carry for the rest of life is unfathomable.”

Patrick, who was 17 at the time, was arrested months later. She has pleaded not guilty to her charges.
