CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police activity near an elementary school prompted a brief lockdown Friday, a school district official confirmed.
A Level 2 lockdown was called at Lillie E. Suder Elementary School in Jonesboro when a suspect being chased by the Clayton County Police Department ran onto school grounds, a Clayton County School District spokesperson said.
The lockdown was called “out of an abundance of caution,” Dawkins said.
The individual was taken into custody. No incident occurred at the school itself, police said.
Clayton County PD said officers arrested Adonis Pedro on a complaint related to family violence - criminal property damage from an incident that happened in the 1600 block of Hearthstone court.
