DULUTH, Ga. — Thousands of dollars of clothes, electronics, paintings, and even a motorcycle have been stolen from a Duluth storage facility and police are using extensive surveillance videos to try and find the brazen thieves.

Duluth detectives are still trying to determine how many victims were impacted by the two suspects who allegedly spent nearly three hours loading a U-haul full of stolen items.

Now police say the thieves are on the run.

Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson obtained exclusive video from the storage facility, showing how the two men spent hours raiding the units.

Police told Channel 2 Action News the men had a code to get in the facility, and that’s all they needed.

Cameras in the facility were everywhere, but the two men left that same night without anyone knowing items had been stolen.

According to police, it was because the thieves entered from above through wiring over each storage unit.

“They were able to slide the door back down and make it look like no one was ever there,” Cpl. Ted Sadowski, Duluth Police, told Channel 2 Action News.

Sadowski said victims didn’t know anything was stolen until days later.

Police said they still don’t know how many victims there are because there’s no visible damage to the units.

“None of the locks were actually broken, so it’s difficult to know which units were burglarized,” Sadowski said.

Officers are encouraging people to look at released images of the two suspects, including one with face and neck tattoos, as police work to make arrests.

Sadowski told Channel 2 Action News the two men took their time inside without covering their faces so no one would know they were stealing.

“Everyone has a U-Haul, so it’s difficult to know if they were a suspect or not,” Sadowski said.

Officers are also looking for more victims from the thefts at Space Shop in Duluth. Anyone who has lost anything or knows the suspects is encouraged to call Duluth police.
