FEMA gives Georgia $3.8M for Hurricane Helene relief

FEMA has rolled out a $308 million plan for 150 projects nationwide, including 12 recovery projects in Georgia communities suffering from Hurricane Helene.

Georgia will be granted $3.8 million to help communities cover costs for debris removal, life-saving emergency protective measures and restoring public infrastructure after a natural disaster.

The Georgia projects include:

  • $751,600 to Wheeler County for grant management costs.
  • $510,500 to Washington Electric Membership Corporation for permanent repairs.
  • $509,200 to Rayle Electric Membership Corporation for permanent repairs.
  • $431,600 to Telfair County for debris removal.
  • $325,900 to Appling County for debris removal.
