Dump truck crash causes big mess, forces firefighters to start shoveling

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are cleaning up a dump truck crash that spilled dirt all over Cascade Rd. in the City of South Fulton.

The truck was coming down the I-285 southbound off ramp when it overturned, according to City of South Fulton Fire Rescue Lt. Eric Jackson. Investigators say the truck was unable to navigate the turn.

The crash shut down the southbound lanes of Cascade Road.

The dirt also landed on a passing truck. No one was injured.

Video shows firefighters shoveling the dirt in the road.

City of South Fulton firefighters are using the dirt to help absorb oil and other fluids from the crash.

Emergency workers said Cascade Rd. would be shut down for quite some time. Lt. Jackson encouraged drivers to use Fairburn road to avoid the area.
