VILLA RICA, Ga. — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a barricade situation in a Villa Rica neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

According to Villa Rica police, a man barricaded himself inside a home in the Liberty Pointe subdivision off Connors Road.
Authorities said the incident began around 9:12 a.m. Authorities have not released details about what led up to the situation.
SWAT, Douglas County and Carroll County Sheriff’s Offices also responded to the scene.
Around 1:40 p.m., Villa Rica police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the suspect was in custody.
Police identified him as Christopher Hackney, 60, of Villa Rica. He’s charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass and simple assault.
The investigation remains ongoing.
