DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A man was killed Thursday during a police chase in DeKalb County, and authorities are still searching for the driver involved, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

GSP says troopers were contacted by the DeKalb County Police Department on Feb.12 about a deadly crash involving a black Mercedes-Benz sedan and a person.

Investigators say DeKalb County police were pursuing the Mercedes southbound on Candler Road. While traveling in the center turn lane, the vehicle hit a man with its front bumper.
Authorities say the Mercedes did not stop and continued speeding southbound. Officers eventually lost sight of the vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as 59-year-old Terry Loman.
Law enforcement agencies in the area are continuing to search for the Mercedes. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team responded to assist in investigating the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
