Fight at DeKalb high school ends with resource officer having allergic reaction to pepper spray

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned that an incident at a DeKalb County school ended up with someone being pepper-sprayed.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. at Eagle Woods Academy, which serves students with disabilities in grades 6-12 through the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Support.

DeKalb County Schools said there was a fight between students and pepper spray was deployed.

A school resource officer had to be treated with an EpiPen because they were allergic to the spray.

In a previous version of this story, DeKalb County Fire Rescue said there was a reported stabbing at the school.

The district has since clarified that information.
